About Technophilia
Welcome to Technophilia, a personal journey through the technology that has fascinated me throughout my life.
Technophilia is written by Techno Phil and documents personal experiences with computers, game consoles, photography and technology from the 1960s onwards. Articles combine personal memories, surviving photographs and historical research.
This website combines my own memories with the history of the devices, gadgets, computers, cameras, televisions, games consoles and other technology that have shaped both my life and the world around us. Many of the stories are based on my personal experiences, from growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, through the home computer revolution of the 1980s, and into the modern digital age.
While I remember many of these devices and experiences, memory can sometimes be imperfect after several decades. Where possible, I research the products, advertisements, specifications and historical details to provide additional context and create a more complete picture of the technology of the time.
Artificial Intelligence has also played a part in creating this website. AI tools have been used to help improve grammar, spelling and readability, assist with research, and generate or enhance some of the illustrations and images used throughout the site. However, the memories, experiences, opinions and stories remain my own.
Whether you're here to relive your own memories, discover technology from before your time, or simply enjoy a trip through computing and consumer electronics history, I hope you find something of interest.
Thank you for visiting Technophilia and joining me on this journey through the decades of technology.
